Meet the founder

It started with 41 lines of code

Barry “Odinn” Walter spent most of his life behind the wheel of a truck, running roads through Utah, Idaho and Oregon. He wasn’t a developer and had never studied computer science. He was a trucker who played Dungeons & Dragons.

In July 2025 he wrote 41 lines of code for his game table and watched a 3D animated cube appear in a 2D world. It shouldn’t have been possible, and it was. So he kept building. The first six months were hard: code that didn’t make sense, concepts that wouldn’t click. Then they did, and he never stopped. Within a year, working alone from a home lab, he had built RNK Enterprise’s privacy infrastructure from scratch.

RNK Academy teaches the way he learned: by building real things, one working piece at a time. No one here will tell you what you can’t do.

“I’m not constrained by the standards of what can’t be done, because I don’t have the formal education that says it’s impossible.”

Part of RNK Enterprise

A subsidiary of RNK Enterprise

RNK Academy is a subsidiary of RNK Enterprise, the privacy infrastructure company Odinn built from scratch. Its standard is “secure by architecture”: every core component built in-house and understood line by line, with nothing borrowed and trusted blindly.

The academy brings that standard to learning. You build each piece yourself, test it, and understand why it works.

Course outcomes and recognition

What a completion certificate means

Each course page explains the training and assessment it includes. Any RNK Academy completion certificate records the course requirements you met. It does not by itself establish an accredited qualification, professional license or third-party credential.

Courses are assessed through labs, quizzes, a final exam and a capstone project, each weighted as shown on the course page. Pass, Merit and Distinction thresholds are published before you enroll.

Questions

Practical FAQs

Do I need an account to look around?

No. You can browse every course and the class schedule without an account. You only need to sign in to enroll, join a waitlist or reach your learning materials.

What formats are available?

Courses are designed for a part-time cohort (ten weekly sessions), a five-day intensive, or self-paced study with office hours. Each scheduled class shows its format, every meeting time and its time zone before you pay.

What does a course include?

Lesson notes, slide decks, step-by-step labs with tested code, ten quizzes, a final exam, a capstone project with a published rubric, and a completion certificate when you meet the requirements. Each course page lists exactly what a seat includes.

What computer do I need?

Each course page lists its equipment and software. The labs are designed to run on an ordinary laptop; courses that use local AI models include offline or mock modes, so a GPU is not required.

When is my place confirmed?

Only after our payment provider confirms your payment. Your seat is held for a short time while you check out, and the confirmation then appears in your dashboard with a receipt. If anything is uncertain, the dashboard says so rather than guessing.

What if a class is full?

Where a waitlist is offered you can join it without paying. Joining does not secure a place. If one opens, the first person in line receives an offer that is reserved for them for a limited time.

Is the certificate an accredited qualification?

Each course page explains the training and assessment it includes. Any RNK Academy completion certificate records the course requirements you met. It does not by itself establish an accredited qualification, professional license or third-party credential.

Can I request accommodations?

Yes. You can request accommodations privately from the help page or your dashboard. We only ask for the information needed to arrange them.

How do cancellations and refunds work?

The refund and cancellation terms are shown before you pay and saved with your order, so later changes never alter what you agreed to. Your dashboard previews the financial and access consequences before you confirm any cancellation.

Ready to look at the details?

Every course page lists outcomes, prerequisites, format, price and completion requirements.
